Art Program

We have a 20-minute art class for each child, ages 2½ through Kindergarten, once a week. "Arts Attack" (Arts in Action) is the curriculum the school has adopted to provide a creative learning experience for each individual child. The goal of the program is to teach every child how to express himself or herself through art. "Arts Attack" teaches the elements and principles of art and drawing in a developmental and sequential way. The primary emphasis will be on encouraging each child's creative abilities. Throughout the year, your child will be exposed to the art elements of color, line and shape. The area of emphasis will be on drawing and self-expression. The level of each art lesson will vary according to the child's age. We want to provide a positive, fun experience for each child while developing a love for art! Your child will be introduced to a selection of famous artists and their artistic styles. A brief Art History Lesson will also be incorporated in specific art lessons throughout the year. In the spring, children and parents alike will enjoy an art show. God has created a beautiful world! Our art program will open small eyes to artistic possibilities.
